Wildlife response preparedness good practice guidelines available in six languages

French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish versions of the IPIECA Wildlife response preparedness: Good practice guidelines for incident managers and emergency response personnel are now available online at the IPIECA website, in addition to the original English language publication. These guidelines provide practical information on what is needed to effectively prepare for and respond to an oiled wildlife incident.

The good practice guide and subsequent translations were developed as part of the Oil Spill Response Joint Industry Project (OSR-JIP), which was managed by IPIECA (the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues) on behalf of the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP).

IPIECA has also recently published a new Technical Support Document, Key principles for the protection, care and rehabilitation of oiled wildlife, (currently available in English only), developed as part of the OSR-JIP Global Oiled Wildlife Response System (GOWRS) Project, involving leading oiled wildlife response organisations from around the world. This document complements and enhances the information provided in the Wildlife response preparedness guide, which can be accessed here.
