A new good practice guide on preparing for oiled wildlife response, Wildlife response preparedness: Good practice guidelines for incident management and emergency response personnel, is now available online.
The guide was developed as part of the Oil Spill Response Joint Industry Project (OSR-JIP) and replaces the 2004 IPIECA Guide to Oiled Wildlife Response Planning, which will eventually be removed from the IPIECA website.
Many international organisations, governmental entities, industry agencies and NGOs with expertise in oiled wildlife response assisted in compiling this resource as part of a collaborative project, which was coordinated by Sea Alarm.
Sea Alarm and Oiledwildlife.eu will maintain copies of ther earlier document in their publications sections for future reference. Copies of the new good practice guide can be downloaded from the IPIECA site or on Oiledwildlife.eu.
