Oil Spill Response offers new oiled wildlife response planning courses in 2014

Oil Spill Response (OSRL) is offering a new oiled wildlife response planning course, developed in collaboration with Sea Alarm and other leading wildlife experts, twice in 2014, once in Singapore in February and once in Belgium in October.

This two-day course is recommended for any personnel or agencies that may be involved in planning for, or responding to, the complexities of spills involving wildlife. Others for whom the course might be appropriate include academic institutions and students in the environmental field.

At the Singapore course, held on 24-25 February, OSRL staff will co-present the course with Massey University’s Wildbase, New Zealand’s oiled wildlife response specialists. In Belgium the course, held on 9-10 October, will include a visit to the Wildlife Rescue Centre Ostend, a cutting edge wildlife rehabilitation facility designed for rapid conversion for high level oil spill response. In Belgium, attendees are invited to an icebreaker the evening before the first session.
